Why cycle with Auster?

Your dream cycling holiday without the hassle

We design all inclusive cycling retreats tailored to your group, fitness level and cycling needs. Road or gravel, easy cycling or hard climbing, we’ve got you covered.

We focus as much on the experience, food, wine & culture as we do the cycling. We know a typical A to B cycling holiday can be a stressful week, so leave it to us and we promise you won’t have to pack your bag every morning at 5am.

You can even bring a partner, for free, for a wide range of other activities whilst you cycle, meaning no more arguments over cycling trips. Guess what? We even have an on site Yoga & Pilates teacher if you are interested.

Enjoy pro-level cycling gear, local gourmet cuisine, and ample fine wine. Bring your own bike or let us arrange one for you. Each retreat is bespoke —whether you want to relax and indulge or train intensively, we tailor the trip to your desires

What does a holiday with Auster look like?

  • We pick you up from the airport and transfer the group to the villa. Upon arrival we will check over your bikes whilst you relax with a drink by the pool. We typically go for a short ride to get a feel for the bikes after travelling or fit your bike for the week ahead.

    We will have a group briefing and design the cycling routes for the week from our library of handpicked routes in the area.

    As the sun sets we have our first group dinner in the courtyard and open up the wine. Our private chef will tailor the menu to your liking whilst building you an immersive local farm to table menu

  • We awake for a small breakfast before heading out to the hills for our first real group ride. We will work on the route with you to fit your riding ability, this may be into the Apennines, over to the Adriatic coast in Le Marche or around the famous Lake Trasimeno. We will stop for lunch at one of our favourite vineyards. Not too far though we’re saving the legs for tomorrow!

  • Our Signature Tour Day will consist of riding 140km of the famous white chalk roads of Strade Bianche located in Siena.

    Itinerary:

    6am: Breakfast provided by our in-house chef at villa: fruit platter, granola, yoghurt, eggs, tea & coffee, juices

    7am: Travel to Siena in our support vehicle with guests

    8:30am: Retrieve gravel bikes from Anima Toscana Bike Rental

    9am: Bike fit and check and start Strade Bianche route guided by Auster cycle guide and support vehicle with mechanic and first aid

    12pm: Lunch stop and refuel at Sapori di Radi Cafe

    3pm: Finish ride with a race up the famous Santa Caterina climb in Piazza Del Campo, Siena.

    4:30pm: Return to the base villa for an afternoon post ride fuel - charcuterie board, champagne, Aperol cart activation.

    Free time to enjoy the villa/pool etc.

    6:30pm - Dinner at the villa prepared onsite by our in-house chef. Locally sourced ingredients, wine from local vineyards.

  • Optional recovery spin cycle or we head to the local vineyards to sample the local wine and enjoy the local market. Depending on the time of year we have a selection of non-cycling activities to do today including visiting local towns, museums and art galleries.

  • We have many options for Day 5, but we always recommend riding a section of the famous Giro D’Italia. There are many routes in the local area, many of our guests enjoy the TT section of the Giro D’Italia 2024 to see who is crowned the most powerful rider in the group.

    It’s your week, there is plenty of time today to soak up the villa by the pool if we decide to do a shorter ride.

  • Friday cruisy coffee ride to the local market for a local breakfast. Depending on your travel arrangements we can accommodate shorter or longer rides on the final day so you can leave feeling like you’ve soaked up every inch of the local culture.

To get the best price, we recommend groups of 8-10 with shared rooms. The price of your trip will vary depending on location and time of year, though typically ranging from 3k-5k EUR for a double room, including:

  • all accommodation whilst on the holiday;

  • all transportation whilst on the holiday;

  • collection and drop off from the airport (as agreed when booking)

  • bike rental and cycling kit as specified at time of booking
